Fly Away

I was so close to giving up on this shirt when I first tried it on; since I'm small I felt like the sleeves overpowered me and made me look like I was going to flap away into the sunset. However, I am so glad that I decided to wait and see how I felt once I added my own personality to it. After some of my favorite accessories and a cozy vibe was added to the mix, I loved how the look complimented my personal style.

I am one of the cheapest people you will meet; I used to spend tons of money on clothes when I was younger, but as I grew up and my bills got larger, I lost a lot of interest in frivolous spending and now I only like to buy versatile pieces that I can mix and match with different looks. All of these pieces I'm wearing can create so many different looks on their own, and I love seeing how many different ways I can make one thing work.

My main mission in life right now is comfort. That applies to the clothes that I wear along with all other aspects. If it doesn't feel right, I don't want to force it. I don't post anything that I wouldn't normally throw on because I want you guys to see my authentic style. I almost paired this outfit with a strappy heel, but I did not feel comfy enough and switched them out for these sandals. I still felt feminine and dressed up without having to fake comfort in my photos.

Too Genius

I'm always talking so much shit about moving out of Florida, with absolutely no idea how I'm supposed to handle an actual winter. Here are some photos of me dramatically throwing on several coats for our most recent cold front.

My inner Animal Planet nerd shrieked when I discovered that Coach introduced this Sharky tote. Camo print AND a shark?! Yes here take my money please.

You can always catch me in either a pair of sneakers or a chunky heel. These babies were made for walking around and they go with almost everything in my closet. Perfect for these fake Florida winters.

I came so close to leaving this shirt on the rack at Zara. I'm tiny so oversized shirts can be tricky for me, as much as I love them. Luckily I came to my senses and snatched it while on sale, and I'm so glad I did because it is perfect for layering.

Fun fact: my eyesight is quite shitty. I messed around and wore my last pair of contacts for an eternity, so now I'm stuck wearing glasses until my new order comes in. It's so annoying feeling my glasses on my face all day! To my fellow blind people; do you prefer contacts or glasses?

EXTRA

I don't care how cheesy graphic/font tees get, I'll always be a fan. I mean come on, what better way to rock a plain white tee than to plaster the word "extra" on it?

So I know that with Zara, the pants (specifically jeans) can be hit or miss, especially if you're working with some curves. But I will say that their leggings have not disappointed myself or my hips yet. These are perfect for me because I always want a touch of detail; yes even on a "plain" staple like leggings. The stripe down the side was what won me over this time around. Not to mention that cozy factor (checks off all boxes).

I got these beauties from Nine West years ago, and they are still the best boot investment I've made to date. They're versatile enough for my random sense of style that goes from girly to tomboy depending on my mood. Guys, I cannot have nice things because I am a hot mess, and these babies have withstood years of my crazy ass. Definitely worth every penny.

SIDE NOTE: This day ended with this gorgeous Fenty lip all over my white shirt. I'm still working on the whole makeup thing *shrugs*

Clearly my shirt had me feeling like I needed to pose extra hard.

Sunglasses have become my favorite accessory. I do what I can when I'm in the mood for some bling with rings and necklaces, but for me the most fun and funky shades can completely change the mood of an outfit.

In the Mix

Hello again to these versatile and fly red boots *waves* Expect to see these on repeat for a little while guys.

You can also expect me to mix these babies up and play with texture, like I did this day when I decided it would be fun to throw on plaid slacks, red pleather boots, a lace body suit and an oversized denim jacket all in the same outfit.

I can definitely be a girly girl, but I've always been a tomboy at heart (blame it on being the only girl growing up), so anything that balances a feminine look with a splash of masculinity always wins my vote.

Chunky

Anybody notice my chunky heel obsession? I refuse to wear a skinny heel these days. Yes I want to be fly and throw on my heels but you know me; I have to keep it comfy otherwise it doesn't feel like ME.

I love these heels; they add a perfect touch of detail with their mixed textures, that way I can keep my outfit simple without sacrificing that little bit of "extra" that completes my look.

A Splash of Detail

If you know me by now, you know it's all about the details for me. I'm down for a simple outfit as long as there is some sort of POP in the deets. A subtle change can make a big difference, like adding bell sleeves to a simple striped top.....

.....or a touch of detail zipped along a clean white denim skirt.....

.....or even a splash of color paired with a versatile pair of comfy boots.

Thank goodness for colors, patterns, and shapes thrown into my look to. distract me from the fact that I completely forgot to wear mascara this day...again. *kanye shrug*

Cozy Pouting

My main priority behind getting dressed this day? Comfort. As always. Why am I like this?!

I love statement shoes, but if you ask me what my ideal pair of shoes are I'll almost always answer with sneakers. Especially if I'm going to be sneaking around random property because the backdrop goes with my outfit. *shrugs*

Disclaimer: my face never really looks like this you guys. I'm a ray of sunshine (usually) most of the time I'm just also awkward in front of a camera.

Fall-ish

Oh nothing to see here. Just a Florida girl dressing in her darkest colors to pretend like it's fall with the rest of you guys. *closes eyes and clicks heels together*

Guys, I was sooo close to wearing this outfit with my favorite grey thigh high boots; I just knew they would look badass with this mini skirt/graphic tee combo. Then, just like that, right as I was getting ready to meet up with my girl for our weekly coffee date, I just said "why?". I'll save that slay for a night out for drinks or dinner on a colder (crosses fingers) Florida night. Today, I want comfort. If you know me, you know I am not feeling anywhere close to fly if I'm not totally comfortable with what I have on in the moment. That's what matters most in my humble opinion; when you're comfortable, you're confident.

Yellow Palms

It's October! *insert spooky emojis here*

Only thing is, I'm in Florida. So while I would LOVE to be wearing a pair of boots with a cool jacket, I'll be thankful for the sun combined with these warm walls in my palm print skirt. Especially after the temperamental weather we've been having recently.

As usual, I used a splash of color mixed with print to celebrate a day off with my good friend while exploring our city. Get used to it; I feel like the prints are going to be my thing foreverrr. *CARDI B VOICE*

Listen I'm not here to fake the funk with you guys, I am the queen of recycling different pieces for my outfits. The only things in this photo that I haven't owned for at least two years now are these fabulous and comfy heels from Target. I try to consider all the different ways that I can wear one piece before I invest in it, so you will see me shamelessly showing you a lot of the same pieces on here, in reimagined ways each time.  Your girl loves to get fly but let's be real, bills exist *nervous laugh*.

I've been in cozy girl mode, but it feels great to throw on some heels and lipstick every now and then. I'm either dying for my couch and sweats or ready to slay the streets. Those are my two moods. Today we saw some successful slay.

Let's Glow

I know I wasn't the only one with cabin fever after Irma made her way through Florida! First day my girls and I had off together was taken full advantage of in the sun with some fun summer pieces. Fun fact about this skirt: it was a bday gift from my bestie who doubles as my personal stylist whenever I'm in a style funk. If I'm not mistaken, she got it from F21!

....oh yeah and she's also my photographer and works miracles to make me look cool.

Prints and patterns with a splash of color is my ultimate go to. Mixing textures is a great way to make a statement, whether it's subtle or loud.

If it's sunny wherever you are right now, I encourage you to get out and enjoy it!

Off Duty

A day off where I actually have the energy to get cute?! I was definitely about it today. I'm in heels 40 hours a week so I will avoid them if I can outside of work (aside from the random days when I'm feeling fierce). I paired this ultra comfy green dress with a fun cross body bag, which gave it a bit more of a cozy summer dress vibe that didn't require too dressy of a shoe.

Btw if you know me you know I love a good bookstore, this little place off of Park Ave. is one of my favorites!

Rainy Days

Lately, I've traded my heels in for more comfy attire. I still like to get dressed up and slay here and there, but any chance I have to be cozy is definitely taken advantage of. Today was a rainy one in central Florida, so here is a typical "rainy day" outfit for me.
